March Parent Resource Information

Poison Prevention Week is March 20th-26th. Please help us in educating the children about the dangers of accidental poisoning and how to prevent it. You can visit www.homesafetycouncil.org for tips on poison prevention.

Here's a Taste a Rainbow cupcake recipe you could make with your child for St. Patrick's Day.

Ingredients
~White cake mix
~Food coloring (red, blue, green, and yellow)
~Baking cups
~Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions
~Prepare your favorite white cake mix, and then divide the batter evenly among six small bowls. Following the directions below, dye each bowl of batter a rainbow color.

RAINBOW COLOR DROPS OF FOOD COLORING
Purple 9 red & 6 blue drops
Blue 12 drops
Green 12 drops
Yellow 12 drops
Orange 12 yellow & 4 red drops
Red 18 drops

~Line 16 muffin pan wells with baking cups. Evenly distribute the purple batter among the cups, then the blue, and so on, following the order shown. As you go, gently spread each layer of batter with the back of the spoon to cover the color underneath.
Bake the cupcakes according to your recipe directions. Before serving, remove the paper wrapping, and if you like, top each cupcake with a whipped cream cloud.

HERE'S SOME FUNNY THINGS CHILDREN SAY!

Teacher: Did you get a haircut?
Cruz: Yes, I got my haircut by a horse.

Alexia: I'm going to the lake. There are crocodiles there.

Lucy: Ouch! I banged my head on the door!
Teacher: Were you watching where you were going?
Lucy: I closed my eyes.
Teacher: That's what happens when we close our eyes when we are walking.
Lucy: Only close your eyes at nap.
